AI vector generator for stock: real SVG, nothing to upscale
An AI vector generator draws an image as shapes and curves in an SVG file instead of a grid of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size and never needs upscaling. Adobe Stock accepts generative AI vectors (checked Oct 4, 2026). Here is how Stock Creatives makes them and what to check before you upload.
Vectors skip the upscale step: generate, add title and keywords, and download
- 1Create the image
- 2Own upscaler, up to 4x
- 3Title + keywords
- 4Upload to Adobe
- Real SVG, not a traced bitmap
- No upscaling needed, ever

What is a vector, and how is it different from a bitmap?
A bitmap (JPEG, PNG) is a grid of coloured pixels. A vector (SVG, EPS, AI) is a list of instructions: draw a curve here, fill this shape with that colour. Because the computer redraws the shapes every time, a vector looks equally sharp on a phone icon and on a billboard.
That is why buyers look for vectors: logos, icons, patterns and flat illustrations that have to be resized, recoloured or edited. It also explains why stock sites treat them as a separate content type from photos and illustrations.
Vector vs bitmap: what changes for a stock contributor
| Bitmap (JPEG, PNG) | Vector (SVG, EPS, AI) | |
|---|---|---|
| Made of | A fixed grid of pixels | Shapes, curves and colour fills |
| Resolution | Fixed: width × height in pixels | None: it scales without losing sharpness |
| If you enlarge it | Gets blurry or needs an upscaler | Stays sharp; there is nothing to enlarge |
| Typical subjects | Photos, detailed paintings, 3D renders | Icons, patterns, flat illustrations, simple scenes |
| Easy to edit? | Pixel by pixel, with limits | Move, recolour or delete each shape |
| In Stock Creatives | Generate, then upscale to reach the minimum size | Generate, add title and keywords, download |
Why can't an AI vector be upscaled (and why you don't need to)?
An upscaler invents extra pixels for a bitmap. A vector has no pixels to add: its size is just the size of the drawing area, and the shapes are recalculated at any scale. Running an upscaler on it would make no sense, so in Stock Creatives the upscale button does not appear for an SVG and a vector never uses upscale credits.
Photos and illustrations on Adobe Stock have a 4 MP minimum. For vectors, Adobe sets the size of the artboard (the drawing area) instead: 15 MP minimum and 65 MP maximum. That is a setting of the file, not something you fix by enlarging.
How does Stock Creatives generate real SVG vectors?
Stock Creatives does not make a picture and then trace it. The vector is drawn directly as shapes and curves.
Shapes and curves, not a traced bitmap
Auto-tracing a bitmap tends to leave messy outlines and lumpy curves. Here the SVG is built from clean shapes from the start.
An art director plans the batch
Give it a rough idea such as “Christmas vectors” and it proposes different concepts, so you don't get ten copies of the same icon.
Text only if you want it
By default the vector has no letters, words or logos. You can allow text when the design needs space for it.
Title, keywords and CSV
A title of up to 70 characters and up to 49 keywords per vector, written from its preview, at no extra credits. See the stock keyword generator.
What does Adobe Stock ask for AI vectors?
Adobe Stock's generative AI page says it “accepts generative AI images, vectors, and videos that meet current submission standards.” These are the rules that matter most for vectors.
| Requirement | What Adobe says | How we checked it |
|---|---|---|
| AI vectors accepted? | Yes, if they meet current submission standards | Adobe AI guidelines, Oct 2, 2026 |
| AI label | Tick “Created using generative AI tools”, required for all content made with generative AI software | Adobe AI guidelines, Oct 2, 2026 |
| Prompts, titles, keywords | No artists, real people, fictional characters, copyrighted works or third-party IP | Adobe AI guidelines, Oct 2, 2026 |
| Similar assets | Submit a maximum of three iterations of similar assets | Adobe AI guidelines, Oct 2, 2026 |
| File formats | AI, EPS or SVG; vectors saved in ZIP folders or uploaded as JPEG are not accepted | Adobe vector submission overview, archived copy, Oct 4, 2026 |
| JPEG preview | Adobe creates the JPEG preview (and a transparent PNG for transparent or flat-colour backgrounds) itself, so you don't upload one | Adobe vector submission overview, archived copy, Oct 4, 2026 |
| Size and colour | Artboard of 15 to 65 MP, RGB colour mode, artboard offset (0,0), up to 45 MB | Adobe technical requirements for vectors, archived copy (updated Jun 11, 2026), Oct 4, 2026 |
Format and size rows come from the archived copy of Adobe's vector help pages. Adobe may change them, so check the contributor portal before a big batch. For the full AI rules, see Adobe Stock AI generated requirements.
What can you make with an AI vector generator?
Vectors suit subjects built from simple shapes. Photorealism is the wrong tool; use the AI stock photo generator for that.
- Icons and icon sets: one clear symbol per file. Adobe has its own page for icon submissions, so read it before you send sets.
- Seamless patterns and backgrounds: repeating motifs, abstract shapes, textures made of shapes.
- Flat illustrations: objects, characters in a flat style, scenes with space for text.
- Seasonal and event artwork: greeting-card art, banners, spot illustrations. Ask for variety, because Adobe allows only three iterations of similar assets.
How to make and prepare vectors for stock in Stock Creatives
- 1Choose vector and describe the ideaWrite a short brief, pick the aspect ratio and how many vectors you want. A rough idea is enough: the art director plans the concepts.
- 2Review each vector at full sizeZoom in on the shapes. Look for broken outlines, stray marks and anything that looks like a logo or lettering you didn't ask for.
- 3Redo only the weak onesEach vector can be regenerated on its own, so you only spend credits again on the ones you redo.
- 4Add title and keywordsEdit the title (up to 70 characters) and keywords (up to 49) so they describe what is really in the file, without protected names.
- 5Download the SVG and the CSVThere is no upscale step. Upload from Adobe's contributor portal, tick “Created using generative AI tools” and submit for review. See how to upload to Adobe Stock and the Adobe Stock CSV guide.
Mistakes that get AI vectors rejected
- Forgetting the AI label, or using a style name that is really an artist's name.
- Uploading ten colour variations of the same icon: Adobe's limit is three iterations of similar assets.
- Sending a JPEG or a ZIP instead of the vector file.
- Messy paths, tiny stray shapes or text that came out garbled.
- Keywords that don't match the picture, or that name brands or characters.
Where Stock Creatives fits
Stock Creatives is our product: an all-in-one app for selling AI images on stock sites. It generates photos and real SVG vectors, upscales photos up to 4x with our own upscaler and writes titles, keywords and the Adobe Stock CSV. Vectors use more credits than a High-quality image and are part of the paid plans; see the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI vector generator?+
It is a tool that creates an image as vector shapes and curves, usually saved as SVG, instead of pixels. The result can be resized to any dimension without losing sharpness.
Can you sell AI generated vectors on Adobe Stock?+
Yes. Adobe Stock says it accepts generative AI images, vectors and videos that meet current submission standards. You must tick “Created using generative AI tools”, and acceptance is not guaranteed.
Does Adobe Stock accept SVG files?+
Yes. Adobe's vector submission pages list AI, EPS and SVG (archived copy, updated June 11, 2026). Whether a given file passes review also depends on its artboard (15 to 65 MP), RGB colour mode and 45 MB limit, and acceptance is never guaranteed.
Do AI vectors need upscaling?+
No. A vector has no fixed resolution, so it stays sharp at any size. In Stock Creatives the upscale step is skipped for vectors and they never use upscale credits.
Is an SVG from an AI generator a real vector or a traced bitmap?+
It depends on the tool. Some tools generate a bitmap and auto-trace it. In Stock Creatives the SVG is drawn directly as shapes and curves, which usually gives cleaner outlines that are easier to edit.
How many similar vectors can I upload to Adobe Stock?+
Adobe asks for a maximum of three iterations of similar assets. Make each vector a different subject or composition instead of colour swaps.
Do I need a model release for AI vectors?+
Only if a vector depicts or is based on an identifiable person. Icons, patterns and objects don't. If a fictional person looks real, Adobe asks you to tick “People and Property are fictional”.
Can I try AI vectors for free?+
Not in the free trial. The trial (2 images and 2 upscales, no card) covers single images; vectors are included on paid plans.
