Best microstock keyword tools: an honest comparison
The right microstock keyword tool depends on what else you need. Adobe's built-in suggestions are free but basic, AutoKeyWorder fills your upload form in the browser, CyberStock exports per-site CSVs, and Stock Creatives bundles title, 49 keywords and the Adobe CSV with generating, upscaling and upload. Stock Creatives is our product.

How do the main stock keyword tools compare?
What each tool says it does on its own website. We have tested Stock Creatives ourselves, not the others.
| Tool | What it does | Where it works | Adobe CSV? | Enlarges images? | Pricing model (seen Oct 4, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adobe Stock's own suggestions | If an image has no keywords, Adobe suggests up to 25 automatically. It also reads keywords embedded by Lightroom, Lightroom Classic or Bridge | Adobe Stock only | Not needed: it is the destination | No | Free |
| AutoKeyWorder | Browser extension that “reads each image and fills the title, keywords and category” on your upload page | Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Freepik, Etsy, Redbubble, Displate, TeePublic, Zedge | Not described on its site; it fills the form directly | Not mentioned | 50 free credits. Its blog (June 18, 2026) lists $9 a month for 500 images |
| CyberStock | Titles, keywords and descriptions. It advertises data from “50M+ real buyer searches” and a “Selling Score” (claims we haven't tested) | Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Getty Images, iStock, Pond5, Depositphotos, 123RF | Yes: per-site CSVs with embedded IPTC, per its site | A free tool enlarges 2x; it doesn't generate images | 20 free credits with an account. Monthly plans (Starter from $9 a month, 200 credits) and credit packs that don't expire |
| CSVNest | Described by search listings as a metadata generator for stock sites. We could not open its site (it blocked automated access), so we can't confirm features or prices | Not confirmed | Not confirmed | Not confirmed | Not confirmed |
| Stock Creatives | Title of up to 70 characters, up to 49 ranked keywords, an Adobe category and CSV, also embedded in IPTC/XMP. It also generates images, upscales to 2x, 3x or 4x and uploads to Adobe Stock | CSV in Adobe Stock format; titles and keywords in English | Yes | Yes, 2x, 3x or up to 4x | Titles, keywords and the CSV don't use credits; the app is a subscription from €49 a month. Free trial: 2 images + 2 upscales |
CyberStock's pricing pages showed different figures for annual billing, so we only quote the monthly Starter price. AutoKeyWorder's price comes from its own blog, as its pricing section didn't load for us. We did not test any tool except our own.
What should a microstock keyword tool do?
Whatever you choose, check the output against Adobe's own rules. A title should be clear and descriptive and under 70 characters. Keywords go from 5 to 50 (Adobe's tips page says up to 49 in places), ordered by relevance, because the first 10 carry the most weight. Keep them in one language, the one set in your contributor account, and keep brand names, artists, real people and fictional characters out of titles and keywords.
A good tool also describes what is visible. Keywords for things that aren't in the image count as keyword spam. Read more in our guide to stock photo metadata and the Adobe Stock CSV.
Which keyword tool should you choose?
| If you… | Consider… |
|---|---|
| Only upload to Adobe Stock and have few images | Adobe's own suggestions, or a free tool, and edit by hand |
| Fill upload forms in the browser on several sites | AutoKeyWorder, which works inside the page |
| Upload to many agencies and want a CSV for each | CyberStock, which says it exports per-site CSVs |
| Want market-data features such as a selling score | CyberStock advertises one. Stock Creatives doesn't have a demand score: see what sells on Adobe Stock for a research method |
| Generate or upscale AI images and sell on Adobe Stock | Stock Creatives, because title, keywords and the CSV sit in the same flow as generating, upscaling and uploading |
| Already have a finished batch and only need metadata | A specialist keyword tool may cost you less than a subscription like ours |
Where Stock Creatives is a good fit, and where it isn't
Stock Creatives was built for people who sell AI images on stock sites, mainly Adobe Stock.
A good fit: a full flow for Adobe Stock
Generate, upscale up to 4x, get a title and up to 49 keywords and a CSV, and let Stock Creatives upload your finished images to your Adobe Stock account. You submit them for review in Adobe's portal.
A good fit: checks before you submit
An automatic review flags hands, text and logos, which are common refusal reasons, and lets you fix them without starting over.
Not a fit: CSVs for other agencies
Our CSV follows Adobe Stock's format. If you need ready-made CSVs for many agencies, a tool built for that may suit you better.
Not a fit: titles in other languages
Stock Creatives writes titles and keywords in English, with American spelling. If your Adobe contributor account is set to another language, check that setting before you use it.
A cost to weigh: it is a subscription
The app starts at €49 a month, excluding VAT. The free keyword generator needs a free account, and the trial gives 2 images and 2 upscales, no card needed.
Try the keyword generator free
You can test our approach with the stock keyword generator: you give it an image and get a title, up to 49 keywords ranked by relevance, a category and the CSV. Keywords come from what is in the picture first and the prompt second, and everything is editable before you download. Plans and credits are on the pricing page.
Compare it with whatever you use today on a real batch of ten images. That tells you more than any table, ours included.
Our own upscaler, up to 4x, built in-house for stock
Stock Creatives has its own upscaling technology, built for stock images: it adds real detail instead of just stretching pixels, and its Faithful mode keeps hands, faces and text in shape.
Choose 2x, 3x or up to 4x. For example, a 1500 × 1000 px photo (1.5 MP, under Adobe's 4 MP minimum) comes out at 4500 × 3000 px (13.5 MP) at 3x, or 6000 × 4000 px (24 MP) at 4x. Upscaling uses credits by scale (a 4x costs twice as much as a 2x), for the images you make in the app and for your own files.
- Our own technology, not a third-party upscaler
- Faithful mode: real detail, with hands and faces intact
- 2x, 3x or 4x: you choose, one upscale each

1.5 MP · under Adobe's 4 MP minimum

13.5 MP · 9x the pixels, well above 4 MP
Or at 4x: 6000 × 4000 px · 24 MP
