Consistent character AI generator for stock photo series with the same person

A consistent character AI generator keeps the same face, hair and clothes across many images. In Stock Creatives you save a character from photos once, then use it in single images and in 10, 15 or 20-photo sessions. Characters are on paid plans only, and Adobe Stock has its own rules for people.

What is a consistent character generator, and why do stock sellers use one?

A consistent character generator makes the same fictional person appear in many different images: same face, age, skin tone, hair and body type. Generic image models draw a different person every time you press generate, which makes a series impossible.

For stock, a series means one person in a coffee shop, then at a laptop, then walking outside. You get a set of related images from one idea instead of unrelated singles. Adobe's rules shape how far you can take it, as we explain below.

How does Stock Creatives keep a character consistent?

These are the tools the app has for it today.

A character library

Create a character with a name and one to three photos. If you leave the description empty, the app writes it from the photo. Mark the character and it comes out with the same face, hair and clothes in your images and sessions.

Photo sessions of 10, 15 or 20

Describe who the people are, where they are and what they do. An art director plans the shots (title, setting, who appears in each) and the app generates them as one series.

Automatic character sheet

If you start a session without photos of people, the app first generates a reference sheet with every character standing side by side, then uses it so the faces match across the shots. It is charged as part of the session.

Your own outfits

Add up to four photos of garments that the people must wear. Without them, the wardrobe comes from the brief or your description.

Checks and retouching

The automatic review flags hands, stray text and logos. You can retouch a zone or fix hands without redoing the whole image.

From series to Adobe Stock

Upscale the keepers, get title, keywords and the CSV, and send a whole session to your Adobe Stock account for review in Adobe's portal. See how to upload to Adobe Stock.

How to keep the same character across a whole series

  1. 1Start from sharp reference photosOne person per photo, with a clear face and half the body. Two or three photos with another angle or light give a closer match than one.
  2. 2Use fictional people, or people who signedA photo of a real, identifiable person means you need a model release. For a fictional character, use photos of a fictional or AI-made person.
  3. 3Mark the character in every image or sessionSelect it from the library each time. Don't retype a description and hope for the best.
  4. 4Write each shot as a different momentChange place, action, framing and expression. Ten near-identical frames are what Adobe's limit on similar assets is for.
  5. 5Compare faces at 100%Open the keepers side by side. If a face drifts, redo that shot rather than uploading it.
  6. 6Title and keywords describe, not nameWrite “young woman working on a laptop in a café”, not a character name. Adobe forbids fictional character names in prompts, titles and keywords.

What do stock sites ask when a series shows the same person?

Rules for fictional or AI-generated people, from the official help pages we checked on October 2, 2026.

More detail in Adobe Stock AI generated requirements and stock sites that accept AI images.

How many photos of the same person can I upload to Adobe Stock?

Adobe's AI guidelines ask you to “submit a maximum of three iterations of similar assets” and not to upload several versions of the same prompt. We found no Adobe rule that mentions series of one fictional person, so we can't say how a 20-photo session will be judged.

The safe reading is that each image must be a genuinely different picture: another setting, activity and composition, not three slight variations of one frame. Submit the strongest shots, not the entire session.

What are the limits of AI character consistency?

Consistency is high, not perfect. Faces can drift slightly between shots, especially in profile, at a distance or in unusual light, and details like small accessories can change. That is why the workflow includes a side-by-side check and the option to redo a shot.

Characters keep identity, not a guarantee of acceptance. Adobe reviews every file for quality, labelling and similarity, and nobody can promise approval or earnings.

What does the free trial include?

The free trial (2 single images and 2 upscales, no card) lets you test the generator. Characters, photo sessions, reference photos and vectors are not included; they need a paid plan. Each session photo uses credits of the quality you choose, and reference photos add a small credit cost per image. Details are on the pricing page.

Stock Creatives is our own product. If you only want to try the look of the images first, start with the trial and read our AI stock photo generator page. For the people side of the business, see stock photography of people.

Frequently asked questions

How do I keep the same character in AI images?+

Save the character from one to three clear photos and select it every time you generate. In Stock Creatives, a marked character comes out with the same face, hair and clothes in single images and in sessions. Always compare the results at 100%.

Is there a consistent character AI generator for stock photos?+

Yes. Stock Creatives, our own product, has a character library and sessions of 10, 15 or 20 photos built for stock series. Other tools offer character features too; check what each one does and whether its output can be sold.

Can I make consistent characters for free?+

Not in Stock Creatives. The free trial covers 2 single images and 2 upscales. Characters, sessions and reference photos need a paid plan.

How many characters can appear in one image?+

Up to four. Each character can have up to three reference photos.

Do I need a model release for an AI character?+

Only if the image depicts or is based on an identifiable person. For fictional people who look real, Adobe asks you to tick “People and Property are fictional” instead.

How many similar images can I submit to Adobe Stock?+

Adobe asks for a maximum of three iterations of similar assets and no multiple versions of the same prompt. Make each image of a series a different scene or action.

Can I use a photo of myself as the character?+

You can, but the result will be an identifiable person, so you would need to treat it like any other photo of a person and give yourself a model release. Names of real people can't appear in prompts, titles or keywords.

Which stock sites accept AI people?+

Adobe Stock, Freepik (Magnific Contributor) and 123RF accept AI images with their labels. Dreamstime accepts generated faces only if you can provide a model release (its 2023 terms banned them), so check its current page. Shutterstock, Alamy and iStock don't accept AI.
