Does Freepik accept AI images, and what is Magnific Contributor?
Freepik accepts AI images from contributors. The contributor program was renamed: the help center now says “Freepik Contributor is now Magnific Contributor”, and the old support.freepik.com pages redirect to magnific.com. The rules below are the current ones.
The guideline page says: “We accept all types of assets (photos, vectors, and PSD) on Magnific Contributor. All assets must be appropriately labeled using the AI button or by adding the _ai_generated tag via CSV.” It adds that you can upload content generated with Magnific's own AI suite if it follows the guidelines, is high quality and is correctly tagged.

What gets AI images rejected on Freepik?
Beyond the automatic checks, the AI guidelines ask that images are “free from malformations, flat or low-detail texturing, excessive similarity, and repetition resulting from the same prompt.” The aim, in their words, is that generated images are “diverse, meticulously detailed”.
Similar and duplicate files. Images that closely resemble others you submitted, or ones already published with a similar composition, framing, main elements or motifs, “will not be accepted.” Duplicates and repeat submissions are declined, and the guidelines say resubmitting the same asset does not raise its chances.
Vectors. For simple vector illustrations, every component (decorative elements, subjects) must be individually selectable, avoiding the “Live Trace” effect or splitting into fragments. AI-made EPS and PSD files must always be tagged as AI.
The title. Adding “AI generated” to the title is optional.
How do I start selling AI images on Freepik (Magnific Contributor)?
- 1Open your contributor accountRegister as a contributor on Magnific. The help center covers the steps to create your account, billing information and identity requirements. Account approval is up to Magnific.
- 2Prepare files that pass the automatic checksJPG for photos, every side between 2000 and 10000 px, under 80 MB, and a photo of at least 1.5 MB. Check each file with our image resolution checker.
- 3Write the metadata in EnglishA title of 35 to 100 characters and 5 to 50 keywords per file, with no file type in the title and no names of artists, brands or real people. Try the stock keyword generator for a first draft.
- 4Tag every AI fileSelect the AI button in the upload section (individually or with multi-selection) or add “_ai_generated” in your CSV. Do it for every file, EPS and PSD included.
- 5Upload and send to reviewUpload from the web panel, with a CSV or by SFTP, then send the files to revision. Review times and outcomes depend on Magnific's team.
How does Magnific Contributor pay?
Magnific's contributor help center has dedicated pages on pay per download, payment methods, invoice periods and tax withholding. We could not open the full text of those pages automatically, so we do not quote rates, thresholds or timings here. Read them in your contributor panel before you decide.
As with any stock site, earnings are never guaranteed: they depend on your files, your subjects and the market.
How to prepare your AI files for Freepik with Stock Creatives
Stock Creatives is our own app. It generates the image, upscales it with our own upscaler (2x, 3x or up to 4x) and writes a title of up to 70 characters and up to 49 keywords, free of credits. You can download the finished images and upload them to Freepik yourself.
Two honest limits. Our CSV is the Adobe Stock one, and one-click upload only goes to Adobe Stock. For Freepik you use its own upload panel or CSV format. The upscaling steps are in our AI image upscaler guide, and plans are on the pricing page.
- Faithful mode keeps hands, faces and text in shape
- Automatic check for hands, text and logos
- Real SVG vectors that never need upscaling

13.5 MP · 9x the pixels, well above 4 MP
Or at 4x: 6000 × 4000 px · 24 MP
Where else can I sell AI images?
Adobe Stock accepts them with the “Created using generative AI tools” checkbox: read its AI requirements. 123RF takes them only in its “AI Generated Images” category: see selling AI images on 123RF. Shutterstock does not accept AI: see selling AI images on Shutterstock. Dreamstime has conditions: see selling AI images on Dreamstime.

Our own upscaler, up to 4x, built in-house for stock
Stock Creatives has its own upscaling technology, built for stock images: it adds real detail instead of just stretching pixels, and its Faithful mode keeps hands, faces and text in shape.
Choose 2x, 3x or up to 4x. For example, a 1500 × 1000 px photo (1.5 MP, under Adobe's 4 MP minimum) comes out at 4500 × 3000 px (13.5 MP) at 3x, or 6000 × 4000 px (24 MP) at 4x. Upscaling uses credits by scale (a 4x costs twice as much as a 2x), for the images you make in the app and for your own files.
- Our own technology, not a third-party upscaler
- Faithful mode: real detail, with hands and faces intact
- 2x, 3x or 4x: you choose, one upscale each
